Home The Property Congress About the Property Congress

There is no other property event like the Property Council of Australia’s Property Congress.

A feature of the industry’s event calendar for an incredible 46 years, The Property Congress has firmly established itself as the country’s premier property event.

Each year, The Property Congress brings together over 800 established and emerging property leaders for an uplifting and insightful three days filled with discussion, networking and learning.

It’s where delegates absorb critical details for their work and take home information that shapes their future decisions.

It’s also where delegates from all over the country build lasting industry connections, and importantly, also have a great deal of fun thanks to a suite of quality, curated networking events.

Each year the Property Congress moves to a different Australian location, and attracts a line-up of high profile, inspiring and insightful speakers, leaving delegates uplifted, more connected and better equipped to lead.

The Property Congress also has a proud history of attracting and partnering with valued sponsors whose support allows us to deliver a prestigious event and in turn, advances the industry as a whole. If partnering with us on this incredible industry event is something that’s of interest, you can find out more here.

First Nations Professionals Program

As part of our commitment to forging deeper relationships with First Nations peoples, we created the First Nations Professionals Program, as part of The Property Congress.  The Program offers a handful of First Nations Professionals from the property sector the opportunity to attend The Property Congress.

This program is in its fourth iteration, so we will also welcome alumni from previous cohorts at Property Congress Townsville.

We will release more information about the 2024 program and how to be involved as a participant soon.

For more information on this Program please contact Charlotte Black or Tori Murray.

The Champions of Change Coalition – Property Group

The Champions of Change Coalition – Property Group was established in 2015 and today includes 24 members who lead some 35,000 employees, in nine jurisdictions.

2020 marks 10 years since eight Australian business leaders came together to form the Male Champions of Change to step up and take action on gender equality. The name change in 2020 from Male Champions of Change to Champions of Change Coalition is a milestone that reflects the growth and natural evolution of the groups work.

In March 2021 a Steering Committee was established to guide governance, the agenda, membership and performance criteria. The Steering Committee is led by Bob Johnston, a founding member of the Property Champions of Change who has worked to progress critical areas of focus over the last six years including normalising flexible work and addressing everyday sexism.

The Champions of Change Property Group pays tribute to the founding Convenor, Carol Schwartz AO, who stepped down from the role after six years in March 2021.

The Property Group meet quarterly to discuss progress in advancing their Action Plans and share insights and challenges in accelerating change. The formation of the Property Group builds on our diversity and inclusion programs and is a public commitment by the Champions to use their individual and collective leadership to advance women’s leadership and gender equality across the industry.

The group’s foundation actions include leading on gender reporting in the property sector, normalising flexibility and caring, growing the talent pool, closing the gender pay gap and building an inclusive industry.

500 Women in Property

500 Women in Property is an initiative of the Property Council’s Diversity and Inclusion Committees throughout Australia and is a sponsorship program. The program aims to accelerate more women into leadership positions in the property industry through sponsorship of high potential executive level and pipeline talent. It involves a personal commitment from Property Council Members (women and men) to identify and champion women in their organisation or business sphere, who they believe would benefit from further networking and professional development opportunities.

500 Women in Property has grown from strength to strength since its launch in 2016, with over 2,500 women participating in the program nationally. The ongoing success of the program relies on the personal commitment of the sponsors as well as the participants to actively engage in the opportunities on offer.
