ECU City Campus (Education precinct – hosted by ECU City Project Office)
Speaker: Sean Henriques, Program Director, University of the Future Program
ECU is set to transform Perth with Western Australia’s first comprehensive inner-city university.
Currently under construction, the $853 million creative industries, business and technology campus represents the future of university education – urban, connected, and part of the lifeblood of a thriving city.
The centrepiece of the Perth City Deal, a collaboration between ECU, the Australian Government and the Western Australian Government, ECU City will bring a world-class education precinct for 10,000 staff and students to the heart of the CBD.
Opening in semester one of 2026, ECU will also move its revered Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) to its city campus, delivering more than 300 live performances from state-of-the-art theatres each year, invigorating Perth’s arts calendar and the night-time economy. As the project is still under construction and fit out in the lead up to practical completion in December, this will be a presentation followed by a perimeter walk with commentary.
