In conversation with our industry leaders and experts. Taking a deep dive into specific topics and sectors to identify opportunities and challenges.
Masterclasses will run concurrently and will be complimentary for Future Directions, committee members, 500 Women in Property, National Mentoring Program and First Nations Professionals participants.
Masterclass registrations will open when session details are announced. Some of the topics could include diversity, land lease, defence, health and life sciences.

Opening keynote: The Hon Peter Costello AC
The Hon Peter Costello AC is an Australian businessman, lawyer and former politician. He served as the Treasurer of Australia from 1996 – 2007. In 2008, he was appointed as chairman of the World Bank‘s new Independent Advisory Board(IAB), has served as Chairman of Nine Entertainment Co. and is Chairman of the Board of Guardians of Australian Future Fund.
Hear from the longest serving treasurer in Australian history as he shares his thoughts on the global economy and the big issues facing business today.

Precinct Rejuvenation: Battersea Power Station, London
At its peak, Battersea Power Station was supplying a fifth of London’s electricity. After decades of sitting derelict, it is now open to the public as one of London’s most exciting and innovative new destinations.
The very building which once produced the energy that enabled people to eat, drink, shop and play in the City, now provides the venue for a new generation to do the same.
Learn more about the master planning of the site, the complex transformation of the power station, the transport orientated infrastructure along with the successes, challenges and learnings for the future.

In conversation with a Townsville legend
A proud Gunggari man, former rugby league footballer Johnathan Thurston AM is a legend in Australia’s sporting history. Across his remarkable career on the field, Johnathan collected a substantial number of wins and awards for his athletic ability, and in 2015 he went from captain to community hero when he led the Cowboys to win the Premiership.
In 2019, he was made a Member of the Order of Australia, and in 2023, was inducted into Sport Australia’s Hall of Fame.
Since retiring, Johnathan continues to inspire young Australians to strive for success across all areas of their lives, including in sport, education and in their professional careers. He founded the JT Academy to create stronger employment and training initiatives to assist in closing the gap.
Sit down with the former North Queensland Cowboy as he shares stories of his mighty career and discusses his passion for making a positive impact on the future of young Australians.

Cathy Freeman is a proud Kuku Yalianji and Birri Gubba woman. She is also an Australian Indigenous Olympic champion. She ran her first race when she was five and realised that she loved the way racing made her feel. The Sydney 2000 Olympics is undoubtedly one of the greatest collective experiences in Australian modern history. Watched by billions of people worldwide, the 400-metre sprint on the evening of September 25 had everyone glued to the TV. Twenty-Four years on, Cathy will reflect on her legacy and life after sport.
