Growthpoint Properties Australia announced the appointment of Ross Lees as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, succeeding outgoing Managing Director, Timothy Collyer.

Mr Lees is anticipated to commence by 1 July 2024. Mr Collyer will continue until July 2024 to ensure a smooth transition.

Ross brings over 20 years of real estate investment management experience. He has held senior leadership positions, including currently as Head of Funds Management at Centuria Capital Group where he helped grow its funds management platform from $4 billion to over $21 billion under management. Prior to this he was Fund Manager of Centuria Industrial REIT and oversaw its re-positioning from a small cap REIT to Australia’s largest pure play industrial REIT, delivering significant investment outperformance.

JLL has appointed Alan McKay as Managing Director for Project and Development Services (PDS) – Australia and New Zealand.

McKay has more than 20 years’ industry experience, including 16 years with JLL and most recently as Victorian State Manager for PDS.  He started with JLL in London, and in Australia has played a role in leading the PDS business in New South Wales and Victoria.

McKay holds a Senior Executive MBA from the Melbourne Business School and a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering with Honours from the University of Tasmania.  He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Savills Australia and New Zealand announced it has established a Residential Project Marketing team within its Queensland business with the appointment of three new operatives.

The news comes a few months after the agency announced it had expanded its Victorian business with a new Residential Projects team based in Melbourne.

The move by Savills Queensland into the residential sector sees Jo Prince-Gillies come onboard as State Director, Residential Project Marketing, leading the team with a particular focus on ‘off the plan’, premium apartments and townhouse developments across South East Queensland.

Having personally sold and managed over $3 billion in new developments, her expertise has earned her prestigious accolades, including the esteemed REB Project Agency of the Year in 2021.

Joining Jo is Jade Loch in the role of Operations Manager, who has almost 10 years in the property industry and Ryan Hayes, Sales Executive on the team.

Burgess Rawson has recruited Chelsea Anderson as Senior Assets Manager to be based in their Melbourne office.

CBRE has appointed Mitch Noonan as Director within the Capital Markets Office team.

Based in Sydney, Noonan’s role will work closely with State Director, James Parry, supporting the business on major office transactions for institutional clients, while also providing support across the company’s focus on middle market clients.
