Property Council invites media to hear direct from industry on impact of construction sector shortages
According to data released in the December Infrastructure Market Capacity report, Australia’s major infrastructure pipeline stands at $230 billion over five years – however, skills shortages and high costs of materials are just some of the factors that threaten the construction industry’s ability to deliver on these projects. It is estimated that, in order to meet demand, our labour supply alone will need to grow by 127 per cent.
This Wednesday 20 March, Property Council of Australia will hold its ‘Mastering the build: Industry shortages and solutions’ lunch in Sydney. The event brings together a panel of industry experts who will discuss the challenges posed by the current economic landscape and share their experience of its impact on on-the-ground operations – and well as their thoughts on potential solutions.
NSW Building Commissioner David Chandler OAM will be in attendance to speak at the event.
