Centrally positioned within the CBD, SubStation No.164 at 185 Clarence Street is an exciting adaptive reuse of two historic Sydney building which sat unused for more than two decades, until now. The historic buildings, a turn of the century warehouse and an early electrical substation have been given new life with a floating sculptural glass extension to become Sydney’s most innovative office tower, setting the benchmark for heritage buildings of the future.
The project, developed and delivered by Built, has retained and reused many of the heritage features of the original buildings including the substation’s original vast industrial Machine Hall with 12-metre-high ceilings that will create a world-class cultural retail destination across 600 sqm of heritage floor space.
Join us for a tour of a first-of-its kind revitalised commercial heritage space as SubStation No.164 sets itself to be Sydney’s most progressive, culturally vibrant commercial building in Sydney’s newest precinct.
