The NSW Government has mandated that every retirement village must have an Elder Abuse Plan. This session will increase knowledge on what elder abuse is, the prevalence in communities, signs and resources available to assist.

Session 4: NSW Seniors Housing Guidelines
In November 2021, the NSW government released new Seniors Housing Guidelines for planners, designers and council authorities to gain understanding of the seniors housing typology, and the opportunities for design excellence and inspiring architecture. Government engaged Lara Calder to develop the Guidelines.

Session 5: Presentation of 2021 Retirement Census results
The PwC/Property Council Retirement Census is the biggest annual snapshot of the Australian retirement living industry. Join us as we review the 2021 Retirement Census results and what this means for NSW. There will opportunities for questions.

As NSW emerges from a long lock down period that has been very hard on residents and staff, there is an opportunity for village operators to explore re-engaging our customers and residents, and re-building relationships. Damien Kernahan of Proto Partners specialises in Customer Experience Improvement and will provide insights into how to engage more effectively across multiple channels. Session 9: Minister Address
Newly appointed NSW Minister for Seniors and Multiculturalism, the Hon Mark Coure MP will address Retirement Outlook attendees virtually. Minister Coure has been the Member for Oatley since 2011. Before being the Member for Oatley, Mr Coure was a small business owner and served on Kogarah City Council for 8 years where he advocated strongly for improved local services and infrastructure and fought against the rising cost of living for seniors. Minister Coure’s agenda for the year ahead will be presented, highlighting some of the NSW Government’s priorities for the year ahead.
Attendees of the Retirement Outlook who are hoping to gain some insights on the future direction of senior’s policy within New South Wales will have the rare opportunity to do so.
