Eligibility Criteria 

  • Must work for a WA or national member of the Property Council
  • Must have projects in WA
  • Must reside in WA
  • Individual or team must not have won the award previously.

People in Property Awards

This award celebrates an individual whose achievements and contributions to the industry will be remembered for generations. It acknowledges, recognises, encourages and, most importantly, promotes the positive contribution made to the industry by property professionals.

Eligibility

Can be awarded to current professionals in the industry and those who have retired in the last three years. This award is not open for nominations.

*The Property Council team will provide a list of nominees to the judges for selection.

This award recognises an individual who has been instrumental in integrating diversity, equity and inclusion into their business, leading to an inclusive workforce and serving as an inspiration to others.

Examples include:

  • Designing training programs in diversity and inclusion for staff
  • Creating an organisational inclusion and/or diversity policy
  • Providing employees with access to diversity and inclusion resources (e.g. training materials, an on-line diversity calendar, eBooks or eLearning)
  • Delivering community projects that offer opportunities for others inside and outside the organisation.

Eligibility

Only individuals are eligible to be nominated. Teams are ineligible.

Judging Criteria

Career Profile – 40% weighting (Limit 1,000 words)

Outline the nominee’s career goals and their outstanding commitment to the property industry and community. Include details such as: 

  • The nominee’s employment history and professional development 
  • Their internal business contributions and contributions to the industry (e.g. committee / board appointments)
  • How the nominee has been pivotal in developing and implementing the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Their vision for the future of the industry.

Engagement and Implementation – 60% weighting (Limit 1,000 words)

Describe how the nominee has significantly contributed to the broader property industry in relation to diversity, equity and inclusion. Include details such as:

  • How embedded a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion is within the organisation
  • Examples of how the nominee has contributed to diversity, equity and inclusion benchmarking and reporting within the organisation.
  • Challenges the nominee has faced in internal engagement (buy-in) and how they were overcome
  • Examples of knowledge sharing via published articles, speaking engagements, certificates and media coverage.

This award recognises an individual who:

  • Is new to the industry
  • Demonstrates an aptitude and desire to develop their property career
  • Is forward thinking, bringing new ideas or practices that make the industry better
  • Has already made a mark in their organisation and industry
  • Embodies the business values of Stan Perron – integrity, respect, excellence and teamwork.

Eligibility

Only individuals are eligible to be nominated. Teams are ineligible.

Nominees must have less than five years industry experience.

Judging Criteria

Career Profile – 40% weighting (Limit 1,000 words)

Outline the nominee’s career goals and their outstanding commitment to the property industry and community. Include details such as: 

  • Their employment history and professional development 
  • Their internal business contributions and contributions to the industry (e.g. committee / board appointments)
  • Business and personal goals they have achieved
  • Career challenges they have faced
  • The reason they chose property as a career
  • Their vision for the future of the industry.

Industry contribution – 60% weighting (Limit 1,000 words)

Describe how the nominee has made a significant contribution to the property industry. 

List a strategy, innovation or project the entrant has been directly involved with which has shaped WA’s property industry. Include details such as:

  • A description of the strategy, innovation or project 
  • How the nominee or their team contributed 
  • The challenges they faced and how they were overcome 
  • Examples of knowledge sharing via published articles, speaking engagements, certificates and media coverage.

This award recognises a team that has delivered consistently high levels of service to internal or external stakeholders and demonstrated excellent collaboration in the creative and effective ways they discharge their responsibilities.

Eligibility

Only teams are eligible to be nominated. Individuals are ineligible.

Nominations must be made by a team’s stakeholder.

Judging Criteria

Team Profile – 40% weighting (Limit 1,000 words)

Provide an overview of the team including:

  • The dynamic of the team (how does it work, why is it successful?)
  • Who is the leader and why they are effective in leading the team
  • The overall results/outcomes of the team (a contribution, project, program, overall business results)
  • How the results/outcomes have contributed to the overall business or community success.

Industry contribution – 60% weighting (Limit 1,000 words)

Describe how the team has made a significant contribution to the property industry. List a strategy, innovation or project the team has been directly involved with which has shaped WA’s property industry. Include details such as:

  • A description of the strategy, innovation or project 
  • How the team contributed 
  • The challenges they faced and how they were resolved 
  • Examples of knowledge sharing via published articles, speaking engagements, certificates and media coverage.

This award recognises an individual who has contributed significantly and consistently to the property industry, beyond their own organisation, over an extended period and for the purpose of advancing the industry and its people through knowledge sharing, advocacy and/or leadership.

Winners of this award are exemplary industry leaders and have a strong profile, reputation and are universally respected in the industry.
