Sonia is the former Data Officer at Ericsson, she is driven by the belief that data is a transformative medium that, when properly governed, understood and made available can accelerate emerging business models, offer scalable innovation, and improve enterprise fundamentals. In short, Sonia sees data as an enabler of unprecedented opportunities to benefit people, business, and society.

Sonia’s leadership role at NBN is central to the company’s transformation to a truly data-driven organization. The position entailed responsibility for setting the overall data strategy for the company and ensuring data usage supports that strategy. The role also entailed responsibility for data quality, governance, usage, architecture, meta data and risk & security. Ultimately the essence of Sonia’s work is to enable the creation of tangible value at an organizational level. This includes improving products and services based on real-time customer feedback, improving efficiency in end-to-end processes through digitalization and automation, monetizing data via new and existing business models and enhancing decision making. Sonia seeks to secure these benefits, chiefly by striving for operational excellence, leading by example, and identifying, coaching, and developing talent. Consequently, highly effective, and motivated teams play a central role in enterprise-wide transformation and change management. A regular speaker at external conferences, board level discussions and a contributor to industry publications, Sonia is also engaged in teaching at Cambridge University.
