First Nations Professionals Program

The Property Council is on a reconciliation journey and is committed to forging deeper connections with First Nations peoples and support their career development within the property sector.

In 2022 we launched the First Nations Professionals Program, an opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples working across the property sector to attend our Property Congress to expand and grow their network, meet and learn from industry leaders and advance their professional development.

In 2025 the program will run again at the Property Congress. This year, we are offering four First Nations Professionals from the property or property related sectors the opportunity to attend our flagship event.

Nominations for the 2025 program will open soon.

The Champions of Change Coalition – Property Group

The Champions of Change Coalition is a globally recognised strategy for advancing gender equality, by promoting more women into leadership positions and building respectful, inclusive workplaces. In the strategy, men and women leaders step up alongside one another. The Property Council was instrumental in establishing the Champions of Change Property Group in 2015, and today it includes 30 members who lead more than 26,000 employees.

The primary objective of the coalition is to achieve a significant and sustainable increase in the number of women in senior leadership positions across the property industry.

The group includes senior leaders from the industry’s development and construction, investment, funds management and agency sectors. They form a high-profile Coalition to lead and be accountable for change on gender equality issues in their organisations and communities – be they local, national or global.

The property group also aims to help address community and social issues, including domestic and family violence, by leveraging its industry footprint, and engaging employees.

500 Women in Property

500 Women in Property is an initiative of the Property Council’s Diversity and Inclusion Committees throughout Australia and is a sponsorship program. The program aims to accelerate more women into leadership positions in the property industry through sponsorship of high potential executive level and pipeline talent. It involves a personal commitment from Property Council Members (women and men) to identify and champion women in their organisation or business sphere, who they believe would benefit from further networking and professional development opportunities.

500 Women in Property has grown from strength to strength since its launch in 2016, with over 2,500 women participating in the program nationally. The ongoing success of the program relies on the personal commitment of the sponsors as well as the participants to actively engage in the opportunities on offer.

Discounts on Property Congress tickets are available for 500 Women in Property participants and sponsors, find out more here
