 Craig is a founder and Executive Chair of Scape Group, owner and operator of over 17,000 student rooms nationally and a further 8,000 under development. Scape has invested over $8 billion into Australia’s education market over eight years with a further $1 billion to be invested in the current pipeline. Scape Group is the largest private commercial investor in the education market in Australia and the largest owner-operator of residential accommodation for lease in Australia. Craig is also co-founder of RTL Co, now deploying over $1 billion into the BTR market nationally.

Previously Craig was Group General Counsel for the Packer family’s interests and director of its Fund Investment vehicles and MD of its Asian private equity business based in Greater China. Craig was Managing Partner of Minter Ellison in Asia and worked for Chief Jus􀆟ce Murray Gleeson, several global law firms and previously owned and operated Australia’s leading ski fields, aquarium assets and operational real estate portfolios in his private equity investments directly and with the Packer-backed funds. Craig has invested in IT and biotech investments including the first biotech incubator in NSW in the 1990’s and continues to participate in the education, real estate and sport investment sectors.

Craig has long been a part of Volleyball in Australia and globally. Locally he was an advocate for a restructured sports strategy for the country, including a new high performance investment framework in partnership with States and NSOs. Craig led (with the AOC President) the AOC cultural review in 2017 and is Chair of the Culture, Remuneration and Nomination Committee of the AOC and its Finance Committee and Audit and Risk Committee. Craig is also a member of the Dr Hewson led Investment Advisory Committee of the Australian Olympic Foundation among other committees including active participation in the Brisbane 2032 negotiations. Craig was recently appointed AM on the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2022 for his contribution to Australian sport and Volleyball.
