Western Australia State Budget Submission 2021/22

Home Campaigns and Submissions Western Australia State Budget Submission 2021/22

Western Australia has, to date, outperformed other Australian states and the world in managing the impacts of COVID-19 on the economy.

As the only Australian state in surplus, the Western Australian Government is well positioned to deliver a 2021 Budget that supports future growth and removes tax obstacles that will inhibit future investment. Our shared goal
is to ensure a thriving WA community, a home for all, and to keep WA on a course for years of economic prosperity.

As the state continues to grow, the property industry will be critical to delivering the homes, schools, hospitals, offices, retail and tourism precincts needed for the future.

After a period of prolonged economic downturn, building strength in the property and construction sector is an important priority for this 2021 Budget period.

The Property Council’s Pre-Budget submission provides an overview of the industry we represent, current market conditions and immediate steps the government can take to help harness opportunities and address social
challenges, such as housing supply.
