Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Submission
The Property Council has provided comments to the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources for its review of the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target (VEET) Scheme.
VEET is a market based scheme that aims to encourage reduced energy consumption in businesses and households through the use of energy efficient technology and equipment.
The Property Council supports VEET for its potential to overcome market barriers in the uptake of energy efficiency activities in the built form. However, we consider the current scheme limited in the range of opportunities it offers to large businesses in the commercial and industrial sectors.
As such, our submission asserts that active engagement of large energy users should be a high priority as the Victorian Government looks to strengthen the VEET. Our submission can be downloaded from the link below.
