Residential Efficiency Scorecard
The Property Council has submitted to the State Government on a voluntary rating tool designed to improve the energy efficiency performance of residential properties using a rating assessment from a private provider.
Whilst we welcome this review, the Property Council is concerned by the limited consideration given to the Scorecard’s broader intent, governance, and operation.
Our submission also asserts that the Victorian Government should explore ways to align the Scorecard with established national and state based rating systems as a way to promote consistency and harmonisation across jurisdictions. We support the Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council's view around the need to ensure this tool is integrated into a more holistic framework and strongly encourage the Government to undertake more robust engagement with stakeholders, particularly around the Scorecard's key features and objectives.
