Review into Victoria's building and planning approvals processes and early building works infrastructure

The Review and its final recommendations will, of course, only be useful if they are accepted and implemented by government. Given its outstanding work to date, the Property Council sees a role for the Better Regulation Victoria in monitoring and reporting on the implementation of the reforms. Government funding will also be required in a number of areas to ensure that the reforms can be properly implemented. Given that the Discussion Paper quantifies the potential economic benefits to Victoria of improving planning processes as being as much as $600 million per year, committing budget funding to this task will yield a significant return on investment.
