The #GoToTown campaign was launched by the South Australian government in Spring 2022, to help encourage people to get back to the CBD and support businesses in Adelaide impacted by the pandemic.
The key feature of the campaign, FOMO Fridays, was an initiative of the Property Council that dovetailed perfectly with this campaign to encourage workers to return to the CBD, particularly on Fridays, with the intention for people to stay on and enjoy the city’s retail and hospitality scene and support the economy. The successful campaign ran through September and October 2021 and…. (do we have any results or anything we can say about it?).
The Property Council worked with the State Government and Adelaide City Council by leveraging our membership and assets to activate the CBD on FOMO Fridays and attract workers back into the city.
Achieving national television and print media coverage, the campaign included a launch party in Westpac House for more than XX people, 25% off parking at Wilsons for all FOMO Fridays, Charter Hall activating (what do we mean by activating? Free entertainment? Let’s be more specific here) the GPO foyer in the CBD on Fridays; $2 rides on Beam scooters plus free rides for new subscribers; Digital taxi vouchers and discounts on fixed price taxi fares to and from the CBD; and BankSA promoting FOMO Fridays through their social channels and advertising it on screens in branches.
The #GoToTown campaign site included special offers, inspiration and itineraries to showcase the city’s FOMO Friday offerings for everyone from young families to older Australians and interstate visitors.
