Home Property Australia NSW & WA drive growth in approvals

NSW & WA drive growth in approvals

  • November 15, 2017

A rise in dwelling approvals across Australia was primarily driven by construction activity in New South Wales and Western Australia.

The latest ABS data shows national dwelling unit approvals increased by 1.5% to 18,849 approvals, in September 2017.

An additional 622 dwellings were approved in NSW compared to August 2017, with an additional 404 dwellings approved in WA.

Private sector dwelling approvals excluding houses increased by 2.6%, while house approvals increased 0.6% across the nation.

Despite strong Australian residential construction activity, monthly approvals have dropped considerably from a peak of 21,882 approvals recorded in August 2016.
