Jobs & skills, housing, infrastructure & investment, liveability & sustainability, innovation & digital opportunities, and governance, planning & regulation have been identified by the Australian Government as the six key priorities for our major cities.
As part of the Smart Cities Plan the Federal Government has produced the National Cities Performance Framework, an interactive dashboard displaying key indicators for these six priorities. The dashboard reports on a number of statistics from population and density to employment, income and costs.
The National Cities Performance Framework dashboard gives you the ability to compare Australia’s major cities across a variety of indicators. The major cities include all greater capital city regions for each state, along with other prominent regional cities such as Western Sydney, Gold Coast-Tweed Heads, Geelong, Launceston and many others.
This data will inform governments and assist in developing more credible and rigorous cities policies.
