The Queensland Retail Property of the Year Awards are run by the Queensland Division of the Property Council of Australia. The Awards recognise and publicly reward exceptional retail properties and precincts in Queensland, based on the response to Development, Marketing, Innovation and Centre Management criteria.
Retail properties and precincts from across the state compete across these categories and for the chance to receive one of the industry’s highest honours – Queensland’s Retail Property of the Year.
The Awards balance the built aspects of a property or precinct – which provide amenity and convenience for customers and retailers – along with the effort and initiatives of the property managers, marketing managers and operations managers.
Properties or precincts that nominate in more than one category vie for the title of Queensland Retail Property of the Year.
The Emerging Retail Property Professional of the Year award recognises industry professionals who are making a positive contribution to the retail property sector.
The Excellence in Marketing Awards recognise innovative events and campaigns that deliver outstanding results for the retail property or precinct and the community.
The Excellence in Centre Management Award is presented to the property management team that adheres to the highest standards of maintenance, cleaning, user comfort, general presentation, retailer, customer, and community engagement along with showing innovation in the management sphere.
The Excellence in Development award recognises and publicly rewards the efficient use of capital in a new, refurbished or remixed shopping centre development.
The Award provides an avenue for property owners and managers to celebrate success, and reward and recognise the efforts of staff in responding to the changing retail environment in all disciplines of centre/property management.
The Emerging Retail Property Professional of the Year Award recognises outstanding achievement by an emerging talent within the retail property industry.

Yes you must be a current financial member. If your company is not currently a Property Council of Australia member, contact the national membership team at [email protected] for more information on membership rates and benefits.
You can only nominate a project worked on if you are a current financial member of the Property Council or the project’s owner is a current financial member.
An extension will only be granted under exceptional circumstances as determined by the Property Council of Australia in conjunction with the Head Judge. Requests for an extension should be made in writing to [email protected]
Nominations in each Award category is considered by independent judges who are experts in the field across the retail sector. There are criteria that nominations are considered against and any judge who has perceived conflict of interest.
Once nominations have closed, you will receive an invoice from the Property Council of Australia’s accounts department. This will include any applicable discounted rate for multiple nominations. Please adhere to the payment terms as nominations won’t be considered until the invoice is paid in full.
