Queensland's stage two rental reforms came into effect on Thursday, 6 June 2024.

Following the passing of the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodations and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2024 on 23 May, the government’s stage two rental reforms have come into effect.

These reforms came into effect on Thursday 6 June.

During the limited consultation period on the legislation, the Property Council raised a number of concerns particularly around the potential impact on the burgeoning Build-to-rent sector, the need to carve out Purpose Built Student Accommodation and the potential impact on overall investor confidence.
