The Queensland Government have developed a Consultation Regulatory Impact Statement (C-RIS) which outlines potential reforms that are intended to enhance consumer protections while maintaining a viable residential parks industry.
In June 2022, the Department of Communities, Housing and Digital Economy published an issues paper seeking feedback on specific issues about the regulation of site rent increase and sale of manufactured homes in residential parks. You can see the Property Council’s response here.
A survey of manufactured homeowners to gather data about the experience of homeowners living in residential parks was also undertaken.
Responses to the issues paper and survey, alongside other data, will be the primary sources of evidence used in the CRIS.
