Queensland Housing Code
The Housing and Public Works Minister Sam O’Connor has announced at a Property Council breakfast that public consultation had opened for the Queensland Housing Code.
The draft housing code proposes simplified and consistent design and siting rules for detached homes on single lots.
The consultation period opens on 19 July 2025 and will last six weeks.
The Property Council has long championed the need for Queensland to have a single statewide housing code to simplify the delivery of housing across the state. The Property Council looks forward to providing input on the draft code.
