The Property Council welcomed inner city stakeholders to the Planning for Brisbane’s Inner City – A Future alive with opportunity breakfast where Council launched their new Strategy for Brisbane’s inner 5 kilometres.
Brisbane’s Deputy Mayor Cr Krista Adams launched the strategy and detailed the significant opportunity facing Brisbane over the next decade and Council’s plans to leverage this.
The itself strategy contained a range of key areas closely aligned with the Property Council’s strategic focus of increasing housing supply, maximising investment and ensuring Brisbane has in place vibrant and world class precincts fit for an Olympic city.
Following, the Deputy Mayor’s keynote she was joined by Property Council Queensland President Luke Fraser – CEO Howard Smith Wharves and Mike Gillen – Industry Director: Cities AECOM for a broad ranging panel discussion.
The conversation, moderated by Property Council Queensland Deputy Executive Director Jess Caire, delved into topics such as Council’s newly announced height limits for the Kurilpa Precinct, accessibility, future plans to increase access to Brisbane’s river and the need for Council and the industry to work together to unlock the potential of inner city Brisbane.
The Property Council looks forward to continuing to work with Council on these opportunities.
