Allan recently joined the Property Council of Australia as Queensland Policy Manager.
Tell us a bit about your background before joining the Property Council?
I’ve spent the past decade in Local Government, focussing on advocacy and policy development. This experience provided an opportunity to work on some exciting regional advocacy including Brisbane’s bid to secure the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Prior to my time in Local Government I have worked in the State Government and consultancy, as well as a journalist in regional Queensland where I am from originally.
What drew you to the Property Council?
Having worked in local government and witnessing the planning and assessment side of the industry I am now keen to help shape positive outcomes for the other side of the fence.
What are your hopes for the property industry?
The current housing crisis provides the ideal opportunity to build a really positive sentiment for the property industry that highlights the significant benefits it delivers and cements its role in supporting communities.
