The Lakehouse just outside of Mooloolaba played host to a panel of industry experts on Thursday for the sold out ‘Shaping the Sunshine Coast’ lunch.
Moderated by Greg Chemello, the panel discussed the opportunities and challenges for the Sunshine Coast.
Katherine Gee from Unitywater, Gurdip Singh from Lendlease, and Debra Robinson from Sunshine Coast Council, brought their unique insights on a whole host of topics to the discussion.
From challenges being experienced in the market, to what was needed in the South East Queensland Regional Plan to unlock housing, it was a wide ranging conversation.
The panel also discussed the important role infrastructure including waste water and water connections plays in supporting the expected growth on the Coast.
Other key topics included:
- Council’s homelessness action plan
- Council’s updated planning scheme
- Opportunities for industry to partner with Council on key development sites
A special thanks to major sponsor Rider Levett Bucknall for making the event possible.
