Government launches infrastructure productivity plan

The government has launches its Infrastructure Productivity and Workforce Roadmap and Action Plan.

On Wednesday 24 July 2024, the Queensland Government launched the Infrastructure Productivity and Workforce Roadmap and Action Plan with the aim of building capacity in the state’s construction workforce and drive productivity in the sector.

To support the delivery of infrastructure across Queensland the roadmap seeks to address challenges such as high levels of demand, labour shortages, low productivity and poor workforce outcomes.

The roadmap aims to:

  • Set out a pathway for the construction workforce and productivity of the sector
  • Increase skilled labour, job creation and workforce diversity
  • Improve local market capacity and capability in regional communities.
