A Priority Development Area has been declared for Waraba in Moreton Bay.

On Friday 2 August 2024 the state government formally declared Waraba as a Priority Development Area (PDA).

Located in the City of Moreton Bay, the PDA is almost 3,000 hectares in size and is expected to unlock land for 30,000 homes, with a requirement for a minimum of 25 per cent social and affordable housing.

As part of the announcement the government also committed to $100 million to the delivery of road, water and sewer infrastructure.

Once the Priority Development Area is declared and an interim Land Use Plan introduced, Economic Development Queensland will produce a development scheme and infrastructure plan with a range of stakeholders.

More information on the Waraba PDA can be found on Economic Development Queensland’s website.
