Council budgets for 2024-25 have been released by Brisbane City Council, Gold Coast City Council and Sunshine Coast Council.

Brisbane
- Residential rates in Brisbane will increase by an average of 3.8 per cent
- Non-residential rates will increase by an average of 4 per cent
- Rates will increase significantly for Build-to-Rent and Purpose-Built-Student-Accommodation properties, this follows last year’s introduction of specific rating categories for these asset types
- $336 million to continue the transformation of Victoria Park
- $248 million towards the Brisbane Metro including completion of stage one and planning for a new northside Brisbane Metro charging station and depot
- $70 million towards the Moggill Road corridor upgrade
- $40 million over three years towards open level crossings
- $28.5 million for the upgrade of Beams Road
- $15 million to upgrade Brisbane’s traffic management system using the latest technology including artificial intelligence.

Gold Coast
- Residential non-Community Title Property rates have increased by 4.24 per cent
- $89.5 million will spent on upgrades across five Sewage Treatment Plants – Stapylton, Pimpama, Elanora, Coombabah and Merrimac
- $41.9 million has been allocated for Light Rail Stage 3 works
- $35 million will be used for land acquisitions, made up of $15 million for Koala Habitat Land Acquisitions, $15 million for Strategic Land Acquisitions and $5 million for Natural Areas Land Acquisitions
- $19 million for parking facilities and regulation.
- $13.8 million has been allocated for Light Rail Stage 4 works
- $13.1 million allocated to Greenheart Stage 1 (Robina City)
- $12.9 million will be spent renewing and upgrading the underground drainage network at Short Street in Southport
- $10 million to the revitalisation of Cavill Mall in Surfers Paradise

Sunshine Coast
- Residential owner-occupier rates will increase by 5 per cent
- Waste management charges for a 240-litre wheelie bin will increase from $28.30 to $388
- The Arts and Heritage Levy will increase by $2 to $20
- $27.2 million to finalise construction of the new district library and community meeting space at Caloundra
- $18.1 million to continue construction of the Honey Farm Sports and Recreation Precinct
- $17.5 million to construct the Caloundra Transport Corridor Upgrade.
- $7 million to construct the Sunshine Coast Stadium Expansion
- $3.7 million to begin delivery of the Mooloolaba Foreshore Stage 2 Central Meeting Place Streetscape works
- $3.4 million to finalise placemaking and streetscape works in Eumundi Town Centre
- $2.9 million to continue work on Maleny Business Centre Streetscape works, Maple Street
