First tranche of liveability fund projects announced

The state government has announced funding for 22 infrastructure projects under the South East Queensland liveability fund.

On Thursday 1 August 2024, the Queensland Government in conjunction with he federal government and Council of Mayors (South East Queensland) announced 22 infrastructure projects that are to receive funding under the South East Queensland liveability fund.

The South East Queensland Liveability Fund provides eleven local governments with a total of $200 million in joint state and federal funding.

Spread across the region the first tranche of projects will receive more than $178 million in funding with councils required to chip in a total of more than $77 million.

The first tranche of funded projects include:

  • One project for Brisbane City Council
  • Two projects for Ipswich City Council
  • Two projects for Lockyer Valley Regional Council
  • Two projects for Logan City Council
  • Five projects for the City of Moreton Bay
  • Two projects for Noosa Shire Council
  • Two projects for Redland City Council
  • One project for Scenic Rim Regional Council
  • Two projects for Somerset Regional Council
  • Two projects for Sunshine Coast Council
  • One Project for Toowoomba Regional Council
