An inspiring event that challenged attendees to consider their definition of accessibility.

Earlier this week we hosted our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Lunch – Inclusive leadership and the critical importance of accessibility in society.

With keynote Carol Taylor, moderator Dr Dinesh Palipana OAM, and panellists David Liddle and Kate Jones this was an inspiring discussion.

Carol delivered a profound keynote that shone a light on accessibility in people’s everyday lives from examples in her own lived experience.

The audience were asked questions like “Have you ever worried about the quality of carpet because it might affect your mobility? Or faced difficulties accessing a bathroom due to a keypad entry lock?”  by Carol.

Carol challenged the audience to further develop their understanding of what an accessible society looks like and to engage in meaningful discussions that identify necessary steps that actually bring about transformation in accessibility.

Thank you to David, Dinesh and Carol who all shared their lived experiences and shed some light on the challenges faced by individuals with different abilities and highlighting the importance of creating accessible environments in both physical and digital spaces.

Thank you also to The Honourable Kate Jones from Paralympics Australia who joined to discuss the importance of inclusivity and universal design of everything from footpaths to hotels.

Without Major Sponsor Multiplex and Support Sponsor Gallus Partners these educational and inspiring events can’t take place. Thank you for your ongoing support.
