
On Thursday 2 May 2024, the state government opened community consultation on the proposed development plan for the Woolloongabba Priority Development Area (PDA).
Community consultation on the 106-hectare PDA will be open until 14 June 2024, with the development scheme expected to be finalised in September this year.
An interim Infrastructure Plan Background Report has been developed while Economic Development Queensland prepares a Development Charges and Offsets Plan (DCOP).
Declared in September 2023, the Woolloongabba Priority Development Area is forecast to be home to more than 14,000 new dwellings over the next 40 years, this includes a requirement for 20 per cent affordable and social housing.
Open space is also prioritised in the PDA with a commitment of 50 open space in the Cross River Rail precinct as well as new open spaces linking Kingfisher Street to the Kangaroo Point Cliffs and the new Green Bridge.
