Brisbane City Council is set to launch a new Special Assessment Unit in March to streamline the assessment of eligible development applications.
The new unit will assess developments under the Brisbane Housing Supply Incentive Policy as well as the applications under the Brisbane Build-to-Rent Incentive Policy, RiskSMART applications and well-made minor change applications.
Current applications will not be reallocated.
As part of Brisbane’s Housing Supply Action Plan the Brisbane Housing Supply Incentive Policy offers reduced infrastructure charges for eligible developments to help get more homes built sooner by reducing the cost of constructing projects.
