The LGIP contains over 1,100 infrastructure projects.

At its Council Meeting on Tuesday, Brisbane City Council adopted a suite of changes to update its Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP), Long Term Infrastructure Plan (LTIP) and related planning guidance.

The LGIP contains over 1,100 infrastructure projects across Brisbane City Council over the lifetime of the plan. The LTIP considers infrastructure needs to accommodate future growth across the council area beyond 2036.

Changes to the Local Government Infrastructure Plan itself include:

  • Updated population growth and job forecasts
  • Updated residential dwelling and non-residential floor space forecasts
  • Road network requirements
  • Active transport links
  • Land requirements and reservations through the development assessment process; and
  • Stormwater drainage

A series of other changes aimed at clarifying service requirements for suburban and urban park design have also been made. They include amendments to the Infrastructure Design Planning Scheme Policy (IDPSP) and the Transport, Access, Parking and Servicing Planning Scheme Policy (TAPSPSP).
