
Energy Queensland has provided an overview of some of the major changes to two manuals of importance to the property industry.
Below are some of the latest changes to the Joint Supply & Planning Manual V7 and the Commercial and Industrial Substation Manual V12.
The latest changes include:
- Addition of Ergon Energy connection requirements
- Alignment between Energex and Ergon Energy settings where practicable
- Alignment with all new and current documentation including
- Connection Policy (Energex and Ergon Energy)
- QCEM V4
- Updated (as required) with respect to
- NER
- Queensland regulations
- Duplication with other documentation minimized
Other changes include new Network Planning Requirements such as:
- Expansion of CBD planning requirements to include:
- CBD Fringe
- CBD Fringe Equivalent areas
- Expansion of easement requirements for new Energex and Ergon assets on private property
- Removal of HV T-joints as a connection option
- Extension of HV requirements near ZSSs from1.0km to 1.5km
- Limitation of spurs on underground HV networks in Urban areas to 2.25 MVA
The Commercial and Industrial Substation Manual V12 came into effect on 27 November 2023 while the Joint Supply & Planning Manual V7 came into effect on 21 March 2024.
Manual release dates and a staged transition period will apply between the previous and current versions of the manuals.
Connection enquiries or Subdivision Concept Enquiries requests received on or after 1 September 2024 shall comply with the requirements of the current manuals, regardless of whether the Connection Contract or Certificate of Supply is issued before 1 April 2025.
