It has a front row seat overlooking Sydney Harbour, but now Sydney’s Sixty Martin Place also has the highest wellness credentials in Australia.
Why we love this project:
|
The WELL Platinum certification, the highest rating level, recognises Sixty Martin Place as a healthy building across categories that include air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort and mind.
Jack Noonan, IWBW’s vice president for Asia Pacific, says the achievement is a testament to the vision, leadership and collaboration of the project team.
“When visiting this project prior to completion in late 2019, I was struck by the commitment to providing an exceptional occupant experience [that were] focused on strong indoor air quality, access to nature, leading end of trip facilities and biophilic design,” Noonan says.
Investa’s national development director Shen Chui says his team’s intention “was always to deliver buildings focused on our tenant’s health and wellbeing”.
Designed by HASSELL architects and with 40,000 sqm of Premium Grade office space, Sixty Martin Place is home to a range of blue-chip legal and finance firms including Norton Rose Fulbright, Mizuho Financial Group, Munich Re and Banco Chambers.
The building’s curved façade and unique cantilevered design create space for the heritage St Stephen’s Church next door and carve out generous outdoor dining and retail. The tower’s green terraces are in harmony with the Domain and Royal Botanic Gardens on the horizon.
Lara Hutcheson, Sixty Martin Place’s development manager, says success was only possible thanks to ongoing collaboration with contractor Lendlease. This ensured “physical elements of the rating tool were designed and constructed”.
Investa’s inhouse property management team played a central role to “address the operational components of the tool in the way the building is managed,” Hutcheson adds.
This is Investa’s second Platinum level WELL Certification, following Barrack Place’s certification in 2018. Investa has enrolled in IWBI’s WELL Portfolio program to bring health, wellbeing and equity strategies to scale.
