COVID-19 has impacted the retirement living industry as much as any other as lockdowns, health restrictions and health concerns changed how the industry operates.
It is those key learnings from the last 24 months of Zoom calls and immense change that will be the cornerstone of this year’s premier retirement living summit.
The Property Council of Australia’s Retirement Living Council is holding the National Retirement Living Summit on the Gold Coast from 20-22 June, with over 20 speakers and 18 workshops, covering the impact of COVID and the sector’s future.
“As the President of the Retirement Living Council I see it all in our industry,” Masonic Care WA CEO M-L MacDonald said.
“The National Retirement Living Summit really does represent the best of what we do and have to offer.
“In these times, an opportunity to come together from all corners of Australia as a sector has been rare.
“The program on offer this year is bigger and better than ever. I would like to personally encourage the retirement living industry to attend in force.”
While the industry has been coping, and now living with, COVID-19, nations all around the world have begun to recover from the pandemic.
One expert panel at the event promises to collect these learnings from around the globe, with worldwide leaders to speak on the present state of affairs and the difficulties that they see as affecting the retirement living industry.
Joining the panel via international live stream is Lynne Katzmann, CEO, Juniper Communities (USA), Janice Chia, Founder and Managing Director, Ageing Asia (SG), and Graham Wilkinson, Owner & Director, Generous Living Group, and President, NZ Retirement Village Association (NZ).
Another session to look out for is the Keynote speech from Shane Fitzsimmons the inaugural Commissioner for Resilience NSW and Deputy Secretary, Emergency Management who will discuss leading throughout adversity and building resilience in an organisation during uncertain times.
The Summit includes the annual National Retirement Living Awards night, which recognises the excellence of businesses that strive to offer older Australians with the excellent experience they want in their retirement years.
