Pierre Wiart has been appointed head of consulting and risk management Australasia for CoreLogic. Prior to joining CoreLogic, Wiart was managing director at Risk Management Solutions (RMS) Australasia, a leading catastrophe modelling firm, where he had responsibilities for Australasia’s business growth, within the insurance, banking and government sectors. In his new role, Wiart will focus on climate risk strategy execution and risk management solutions for the insurance and financial services segments. His appointment comes as CoreLogic Australasia joins forces with Munich Re, one of the world’s leading reinsurers, to offer the most comprehensive view of the impact of climate change to individual properties in Australia and New Zealand.
National independent valuer and advisor m3property has promoted Stephen Linnane to the new role of associate director of residential development. Linnane joined m3property from JLL in January with experience across residential development, development feasibility, family law property disputes, due diligence, and pre-acquisition and disposal advisory.
The Buxton family and former MaxCap founding partner Michael Fowler have launched Corsair Investment Management, a specialist real estate funds and investment manager for the Australian commercial, residential and industrial property markets. The Buxton family has been a pillar of Australian real estate and development for more than 150 years, running Buxton Real Estate, Becton, MAB Corporation and Hamton. Corsair builds on this expertise, with the recent appointments of Michael Fowler as chair, and former Westpac executives Robert Altson as chief operating officer and Chris Moyle as chief investment officer.

Jay McNamara, the US-based head of real estate product at investment research firm MSCI, has been appointed president of The Burgiss Group. Burgiss is a global provider of data, analytics and technology solutions for investors of private capital. The two companies formed a strategic partnership in January. In this new role, McNamara will report to Burgiss founder and CEO Jim Kocis. René Veerman has been promoted head of real estate product and client coverage and will assume responsibility for the product management, business and commercial strategy for MSCI Real Estate.
Luxury residential and rural property agents, Deborah Cullen and Richard Royle, have formed a partnership. Cullen, who has a background in prestige residential property, and Royle, whose expertise is in rural assets, have opened a new boutique property agency, Cullen Royle. The pair will assist high net worth domestic and international clients across Australia, specialising in luxury residential, lifestyle, rural and agricultural assets.
