John Brogden steps down as CEO of Landcom, Buchan Group makes key changes, QIC hires Nicholas Skulander to oversee healthcare and Civium Property Group promotes Dania Khalil.

Landcom’s chief executive officer John Brogden will step down from his role when his contract concludes in May 2022. Brogden will leave Landcom to focus on his work in mental health, after six years as chair and four years as CEO. Brogden is the president of Lifeline International and will continue working with Lifeline Australia. Under Brogden’s leadership, Landcom has been recognised as a global sustainability leader, in 2021 achieving second place in Australia and Oceania among residential developers in GRESB. Brogden has championed relationships with local Aboriginal land councils and led Landcom’s commitment of five to 10 per cent affordable housing for key workers across its portfolio. In its 45 year history, Landcom has developed more 220 projects and 100,000 homes. The search for a new CEO is underway.

Buchan has appointed three of its principals to key sector leaders under a raft of changes at the global design studio. Valerie Mack will take the helm of interiors for the firm, while Harvey Male will assume responsibility for ‘living’ and Phil Schoutrop will lead the precinct sector. Buchan CEO Stephen Auld says the firm will continue to operate from nine capital city locations in Australia, New Zealand and China, but will move to a common platform to champion its cross-sector expertise and global knowledge relevant to its clients.

QIC’s property investment arm has hired Nicholas Skulander as general manager of healthcare. Skulander moves to QIC’s global real estate division from Dexus, where he was responsible for generating healthcare opportunities. Skulander is an expert in healthcare asset procurement models, and has worked across both the public and private sectors. Skulander has also held senior roles at NSW Health Infrastructure and Centuria.

Dania Khalil has been promoted to the role of director of commercial sales and leasing at Civium Property Group in the ACT. Khalil has driven business development for the last five years at Canberra’s only full service real estate agency.

Junglefy has made new hires. Leslie Duke takes on national sales and business development, while David Wait is the head of operational delivery. Technical design officer, Lucila Castello, joined Junglefy from building materials firm Kingspan recently, while Rayon Abdul was appointed as the company’s first financial controller earlier this year.

PRD Hobart directors Natalie Gray and Rychelle Kay have recently merged with the PMM Real Estate office in Tasmania’s Eastern Shore to become the fourth PRD office location. This fourth location joins the Montrose, New Norfolk and Hobart offices with 50-plus staff. Established in Queensland in 1976, PRD is a market-leading franchised network that fulfills the needs of buyers and sellers, backed by research, expertise and market data.

Hames Sharley has promoted of four new directors and an associate director. Dustin Brade, Shannon O’Shea, Andrew Mailler and Dean Symington were confirmed as directors at the firm’s most recent board meeting, where 40:40:20 gender targets for gender equity at all levels were also agreed. The growth of Hames Sharley’s SA studio has created an opportunity to promote Dorota Chmielewska to associate director.

Colliers has appointed Tom Reed as director of valuation and advisory services. Reed will be based in the Adelaide office working alongside national director, Tanya Parker. Reed has an extensive resume with more than 20 years’ experience, having previously worked at JLL, Herron Todd White and the Office of the Valuer General as a supervising valuer and appearing as an expert witness. He spent two years as a director at Jadelink, working as an ambassador to help Australian and Chinese businesses network.
