Lendlease’s Kylie Rampa to take the reins at the Queensland Investment Corporation, Cromwell Property Group promotes Brett Hinton, Sam Harvey-Jones is Colliers’ new COO and Belinda Barnett launches UrbanTalk.

Lendlease’s group head of investments, Kylie Rampa, will take the reins at the Queensland Investment Corporation in April 2022. Rampa replaces QIC’s long-time chief executive Damien Frawley, who has held the role for nearly a decade. Frawley is a former CEO of Blackrock Australia and national rugby union player. Rampa, a former vice president of the Property Council and current director of the National Housing Investment Finance Corporation, led Lendlease’s Australian property business for more than five years. She also held senior roles with Macquarie Real Estate Group for more than a decade. Announcing the appointment, Queensland treasurer and trade minister Cameron Dick noted Rampa was the only Queensland woman to head a major Australian investment manager. Rampa’s experience delivering large projects for Lendlease would help Brisbane in the lead-up to the 2032 Olympic Games, Dick said. With more than $90 billion of funds under management, QIC is owned by the state government, and supported by Australia’s institutional investment community.

Hinton spent 17 years with Commonwealth Bank, the last six as director of real estate. Cromwell’s largest shareholder, ARA Asset Management, is on track to be acquired by ESR. This will create the world’s third-largest listed real estate investment manager and the largest in the Asia Pacific, with around US$131 billion of assets under management.

With more than 21 years of extensive global real estate and business experience, Harvey-Jones has worked with multinational organisations across a variety of industries including Novartis, Cognizant, Pfizer, Ipsos and Citi.
