QIC’s outgoing CEO Damien Frawley joins the board of Mirvac, Mainbrace appoints Paul Chapple to lead its interiors business in Queensland and Bridgeen Rocks joins Architectus as head of client experience and growth.
Mirvac has secured the services of outgoing CEO of the Queensland Investment Corporation Damien Frawley as a non-executive director. Frawley grew QIC’s assets under management to $92 billion during his time at the helm. During his 35-year career, Frawley was country head of BlackRock Australia, and has held senior roles with Merrill Lynch Investment Management, Barclays Global Investors and Citibank. Frawley will also join Mirvac’s audit, risk and compliance and human resources committees. Frawley will be succeeded by Lendlease group head of investments Kylie Rampa.
Retail specialist Mainbrace Constructions has appointed Paul Chapple as new Queensland interiors manager. Chapple has held project director roles with Mettle Projects and Haagen Developments, and ran his own construction business. Mainbrace’s interiors division works with clients to re-imagine internal spaces and future-proof their assets, undertaking aesthetic improvements, amenities upgrades and other small works.
Bridgeen Rocks has joined Architectus as head of client experience and growth. Rocks, a passionate contributor to the National Association of Women in Construction for many years, including three years as a board director, was most recently client director with AECOM. She spent more than 12 years with HASSELL.
Following Colliers’ recent hire of Lisa Hinde as head of sustainability in June, Colliers has been appointed to two new major sustainability advisory programs with key industry bodies NABERS and the Green Building Council of Australia. Colliers’ national director of industrial real estate management Services, Daniel Shafferman, and Hinde will be working with the NABERS Accelerate program and the Early Access Green Star Performance Advisory Panel.
Cooper Lindsay has joined newly-launched digital media production company UrbanTalk as creative producer. Combining a talent for storytelling through film, a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) and long-standing interest in urban development and architecture, Lindsay is behind UrbanTalk’s videos and podcasts, aiming to help developers explain their projects to local communities. As chief remote pilot, Lindsay also creates the company’s SiteView drone videos.
Australian Proptech marketplace Bricklet has appointed Ironfish founder and CEO Joseph Chou to its board. Chou, who founded the property investment brand in 2006, joins chairman Giuseppe Porcelli and managing director Darren Younger on Bricklet’s board. Ironfish has seven offices in Australia and five in China, as well as multiple property development and management branches around Australia. Bricklet uses blockchain technology to sub-divide or fragment properties which can be traded.
JLL is expanding its Asia Pacific capital markets business, naming Paul Brindley head of debt Advisory for Asia Pacific. Brindley will assume the newly-created role in Singapore and will report to Stuart Crow, CEO of capital markets for Asia Pacific. He moves across from JLL’s US capital markets business, where he is currently senior managing director and co-head of JLL’s capital markets office in Los Angeles.
