Carol Schwartz AO is reappointed to the Reserve Bank of Australia, Anne Martinelli will temporarily step into the role of executive director at ASBEC and CoreLogic acquires Brisbane proptech AiRE.
The Morrison Government has reappointed Carol Schwartz AO to the Reserve Bank of Australia board for a further five years. Schwartz, the Property Council’s first female national president, has been a member of the RBA board since 2017. Schwartz’s sustained leadership has garnered a range of honours, including her 2019 appointment as an Officer of the Order of Australia, an honorary doctorate from Monash University, induction into the Australia Property Hall of Fame, and a Centenary Medal.
Anne Martinelli will fill Alison Scotland’s shoes as executive director at the Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council while Scotland is on maternity leave. Martinelli is a sustainability strategist with more than 20 years’ experience in advocacy and policy roles across government and the not-for-profit sector. She has worked with both Environment Victoria and Renew, and currently holds a position with the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning. Martinelli is taking a leave of absence from DELWP for the period of her tenure with ASBEC.
CoreLogic International has acquired Brisbane-based prop-tech firm AiRE, as part of its expansion across real estate technology solutions. AiRE specialises in AI-driven lead identification and ‘nurture’ solutions. AiRE’s co-founders, Ian Campbell and Sarah Bell, and the company’s leadership team will continue to lead the business as part of CoreLogic.
Lendlease’s long-time communications and corporate affairs professional, Liz Sleeman-Turner, has been promoted to the role of senior marketing and communications manager for buildings across Victoria, Western Australia and South Australia. Sleeman-Turner was Lendlease’s external affairs manager for Victoria for more than a decade.
Schneider Electric has appointed Patricia Hopkins as director within its distributed software and business development team. Hopkins will report to Pacific vice president for industry Mauro DelleMonache. Her appointment rounds out a quarter of new hires for Schneider Electric. Astrid Groves returned to the business as channel chief for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific and Natalie Mina was appointed head of communications for the Pacific last month. Helen Machalias has taken on the role of director of strategic communications at the Greater Sydney Commission, which coordinates and aligns the planning that will shape the future of Greater Sydney, accelerate the delivery of key economic precincts and lead discussion on the major city-shaping issues across the three cities. Machalias leads the strategic communication function within the thought leadership and engagement team. She has previously held senior roles with Infrastructure Australia and Transport for NSW.
