Lendlease’s Robert Hattersley joins AMP Capital as chief investment officer, Charter Hall expands its distribution team, and Marianne Foley joins TSA Management.

Robert Hattersley is taking on AMP Capital’s newly created role of chief investment officer for its real estate division. Hattersley has more than 30 years’ experience in the property sector and joins AMP Capital from, where he was most recently the group chief investment officer. In this role he was responsible for all third-party capital relationships comprising more than $36 billion in assets under management. He was also responsible for sourcing equity partners and managing client relationships for Lendlease’s $113 billion development pipeline. Prior to that he held senior roles with Mirvac. Hattersley will be responsible for raising capital for AMP Capital Real Estate’s existing funds and mandates and working closely with the origination team to raise capital for new products. He will join AMP Capital early next year and will report to head of real estate, Kylie O’Connor.

In other AMP Capital news, Chris Nunn has been promoted to head of platform operations and ESG. Darren Teoh steps into Nunn’s former role as head of sustainability real estate. Teoh joined AMP Capital in 2015 as general manager of sustainability. A trained mechanical engineer, he’s also held roles with EMF Griffiths and Arup, during which time he worked on the University of Queensland’s award-winning Global Change Institute, arguably Australia’s first carbon neutral building. Nunn, who was also director of sustainability for JLL and NDY in previous roles, is a member of the Property Council’s National Sustainability Roundtable.

Charter Hall is expanding its distribution team. Renee Oldfield, Paul Ramsay, Mark Weingarth, Craig Harding and Marco Triani join the team. Oldfield takes on the role of state distribution manager for Western Australia and South Australia, after more than 20 years in the industry in advisory roles with Macquarie Bank and others. Ramsay, state distribution manager for Victoria and Tasmania, was previously key account manager with investment manager Franklin Templeton. Weingarth, state distribution manager of New South Wales, hails from Macquarie Group, where he worked in sales and distribution strategy. Harding, business development manager for Queensland and the Northern Territory, and Triani, key account manager, have been promoted from other roles with Charter Hall.

ClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects has launched a social impact award to celebrate the legacy of Robert Goodliffe, who is retiring this month after 40 years as a designer, practice leader and advocate for ethical business and climate action. The inaugural 2022 ClarkeHopkinsClarke Robert Goodliffe Impact Tomorrow Award will celebrate and support the advocacy of a team member making meaningful change in their sphere of influence. The award and retirement announcements come as ClarkeHopkinsClarke marks its sixtieth birthday. Under Goodliffe’s stewardship ClarkeHopkinsClarke expanded into eight diverse sectors, grew by 400 per cent, won more than 60 industry awards and became one of the world’s largest architectural BCorps.

Marianne Foley joins development and infrastructure consultancy TSA Management as NSW general manager after 18 years with Arup. Foley held a range of senior leadership roles with Arup, most recently as principal of fire engineering services. Foley’s projects include the 2008 Beijing Olympics’ ‘Watercube’, 50 Martin Place, 8 Chifley Square and 1 Shelley Street.

Craig Rodgers taken up a new role with Mirvac as national technical operations manager. Rodgers has spent the last decade with Charter Hall, the last three or so as its innovation lead for the office sector.

Global consultancy firm Mott MacDonald has a new Australian precincts lead: Marianna Southwick. With 25 years of experience in numerous sectors, including innovation districts, health, education, culture, sports, transport and tourism, Southwick most recently led multi-agency planning, program business case and delivery of the Parramatta North precinct for the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment.

JLL has expanded its NSW capital markets team with the appointment of a new director, Sophie Tieman. Moving cross from Colliers, where she was focused on institutional sales in the Sydney metropolitan markets, Tieman was formerly a register valuer, specialising in both the Sydney and Brisbane institutional markets.

Living infrastructure specialist Junglefy has made key appointments. David Wait joins the team as operational delivery manager, bringing with him 25-plus years’ experience in project and horticultural management. Wait will oversee project delivery. Luli Castello takes on the role of technical design officer following five years at Kingspan. And after eight years with Junglefy, Nathan Wills was recently promoted to senior horticulture specialist.

Knight Frank’s Queensland office will soon be under new leadership following the appointment of Dominic Long as head of Queensland. Long, who is relocating from Melbourne to Brisbane, has nearly 40 years of experience in property. As managing director of commercial real estate for Cushman & Wakefield in Victoria, Long more than quadrupled the business revenue in three years. Long also spent 15 years at Savills, including 12 years as managing director of the Victorian office, and nearly 20 years at Hardwicke Property Group, Ireland’s largest privately-owned property developer. Long replaces Shaun Witherow, who managed Knight Frank’s Queensland business through COVID-19, and who takes up a national role as partner for national client solutions in the asset management services team.
