Property industry support for bushfire relief and recovery

Our thoughts are with our fellow Australians who have been affected by the unprecedented bushfire disaster, as well as those who have been on the frontline fighting the fires and providing support to affected communities. 

The bushfires have taken a devastating toll on life, livelihoods, communities, livestock and wildlife. 

We acknowledge the contributions being made by members of the property industry who are helping bushfire relief and recovery efforts with financial and in-kind support.

Scentre Group 

  • $500,000 cash donation to the Salvation Army
  • In-kind support in Westfield centres via digital screens, media network and community desks
  • Support for impacted employees and donation matching

 Vicinity Centres 

  • $250,000 donation to be distributed through Salvation Army and Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal
  • Community space at 60+ centres, digital advertising, employee donation matching
  • Support for staff volunteering in emergency services through paid leave, extending volunteering leave for bushfire charity work

 Stockland 

  • $250,000 donation to the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal and $250,000 to other organisations
  • Employee donation matching, free space for nominated charities and community space for counselling and small business services in affected communities, in-centre digital advertising
  • Additional paid leave for staff doing voluntary firefighting, emergency leave provisions for impacted employees

Lendlease

  • $500,000 donation to Australian Red Cross, and matching employee donations up to $500,000 for donations made to Red Cross since 1 December 2019
  • Supporting local community initiatives including support for frontline emergency services,, and convened bushfire emergency committee to determine longer term assistance strategy to help affected communities, including annual Community Day focus
  • Emergency and volunteer leave policies in place, including extended paid leave where appropriate.

QIC Global Real Estate

  • Donation points at  centres across Australia to support the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund.
  • QIC teams across Australia are donating their time by staffing these donation points via our dedicated volunteer leave policy, and volunteering on frontlines.
  • Donations to the Red Cross and NSW Wildlife Information Rescue and Education Service (WIRES).
  • Centres are also partnering with local community groups and leaders to raise funds, supplies and goodwill for those affected, and providing free digital advertising to raise awareness of appeals.

The GPT Group

  • $200,000 donation to Australian Red Cross, Salvation Army and NSW Rural Fire Service
  • Staff donation matching by giving two dollars for every dollar donated up to $50,000
  • Employee and family support through access to emergency and community service leave programs and Employee Assistance Program.

Mirvac

  • The company has pledged $500,000 to relief efforts and will match dollar-for-dollar all staff donations. 
  • Mirvac is offering workers unlimited paid volunteer leave.

CBRE Australia

  • The CBRE Disaster Relief Foundation has partnered with the firm’s Australian business to help contribute vital funds to the Australian Red Cross and assist in the recovery efforts. The Foundation is matching every staff dollar contributed, up to a maximum contribution from the Foundation of AU$215,000, via the CBRE Cares donation website.
  • To date (Wednesday, 15 Jan), CBRE staff have raised AU$51,374.27, which has been matched by the Foundation for a running total of AU$102,748.54. Fundraising will continue in coming months.
  • CBRE has is also offering employee and family support through access to emergency and community service leave programs during this time, as well as access to the company’s Employee Assistance Program.

Investa

  • Fundraising campaign from 20 January on behalf of Vinnies Bushfire Appeal. Investa staff volunteers will be collecting donations at many of the buildings it owns and manages across the country
  • Digital fundraising campaign, extended to Investa’s broader network, on behalf of Vinnies Bushfire Appeal
  • Unlimited, fully-paid Emergency Leave,temporary accommodation and a range of other support options to any employees whose homes have been directly impacted by the bushfires
  • Unlimited, fully-paid volunteering Leave to employees working with fire and emergency services or on charity relief efforts and supporting employees to explore volunteering opportunities and to take time away from work to lend a helping hand where possible
  • Matching employee donations, dollar for dollar, to any bushfire relief charity drive of their choice
  • Employee Assistance Program available to all employees, and their families, should they need support during the bushfire crisis.

Charter Hall

  • $500,000 donation to provide relief now, and contribute to the longer term recover and renewal needs. This will be distributed through the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund and the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal.
  • Support for staff volunteering and extended paid leave for those impacted.
  • Dollar matching staff donations made to charitable and not-for profit organisations.

Frasers Property Australia

  • Cash donations to the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal and the Salvation Army
  • Unlimited paid volunteering leave for staff assisting with bushfire relief
  • The Frasers Property Foundation is matching all funds donated by staff to bushfire relief and recovery

Dexus

  • Paid leave to employees who are volunteering with the RFS or supporting communities impacted by the bushfires.
  • Matching employee donations to organisations which are providing relief to affected communities.
  • Holding fundraising initiatives across Dexus office buildings, including a Foodbank drive held in December, with donations going to organisations that are supporting bushfire victims.
  • Providing space for charities to hold collections in Dexus managed shopping centres around the country.

AVJennings

  • $250,000 donation to the Red Cross
  • Establish the AVJennings Community Grants Fund with an initial commitment of $750,000 for the first three years;
  • Establish a Workplace Volunteering program offering paid leave to undertake work in the community linked to the bushfire crisis and associated community initiatives

BGIS

  • Corporate donations made to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal and NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS)
  • Staff fundraising events for the Red Cross, The Salvation Army and Wildlife Victoria, with employee donation matching
  • Fully-paid community leave to employees in voluntary emergency management services such as the Rural Fire Service (RFS) and State Emergency Services (SES), and including Defence reservists assisting in bushfire relief initiatives
  • In-kind support and paid employee volunteering initiatives in partnership with BlazeAid and Habitat for Humanity
  • Supporting local community initiatives including providing fresh produce to impacted wildlife in Southern NSW

Savills

  • The Savills Bushfire Appeal fundraising page has been established with funds raised to be evenly split between The Red Cross Australia Disaster Relief and Recovery fund, The Salvation Army, WIRES and Savills affected communities – fundraising efforts to support our people, their families and friends, and their communities.   • Savills has initiated additional volunteer leave for staff to use towards supporting communities and organisations affected by the bushfire crisis during both the relief and recovery phases.
  • The business is organising food drives for Foodbank in each state with food collected at each office being distributed directly to Foodbank.
  • The Savills Excellence in Property Awards trip has been redesigned to incorporate a CEO Lead Volunteer activity.
  • Providing employee and family support through access to emergency and community service leave programs and Employee Assistance Program.
  • Local fundraisers to take place in each state, with all proceeds to go to the Savills Bushfire Appeal.
