Committees for the 2025-26 term have been announced in Townsville, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast

The Queensland Property Council Executive Director Jess Caire has welcomed the appointment of new regional committees for the 2025-26 term in Townsville, the Gold Coast, and the Sunshine Coast, highlighting their crucial role in shaping the future of Queensland’s property sector.

“Our committees are the backbone of our advocacy efforts, ensuring that local knowledge and strong industry representation guide our work,” Ms. Caire said.

“Queensland is the most decentralised state in Australia and our regional committees ensure we are well placed to represent the sector from the cape to the coast and everywhere in between.

“With rapid growth across Townsville, the Gold Coast, and the Sunshine Coast, our local committees will be critical in driving positive outcomes for housing supply, infrastructure investment, and economic development.

“We look forward to working closely with each committee, alongside stakeholders and government, to create thriving and sustainable communities.

“Each committee is comprised of a diverse mix of professionals who are all leaders in their respective field and include developers, planners, legal experts, and asset managers, all of whom are dedicated to championing the interests of their local property sector,” Ms Caire said.

Townsville Committee

Knight Frank Partner Matthew Ryan has been appointed Chair of the Townsville Committee, with Angie Hanson from Turner & Townsend serving as Deputy Chair.

The committee, which includes representatives from local development, legal, and architectural sectors, will focus on addressing Townsville’s unique opportunities and challenges.

“As North Queensland’s largest city and a major regional hub, Townsville has enormous potential,” Mr. Ryan said.

“From housing and infrastructure to commercial and industrial development, we must seize opportunities while tackling challenges such as housing supply and economic growth.”

Gold Coast Committee

Carl Bruhn, General Manager at Urbex Pty Ltd, will lead the Gold Coast Committee as Chair, with Melissa Griffin from Urbis appointed as Deputy Chair.

“The Gold Coast is a dynamic and fast-growing city, but its success brings challenges,” Mr Bruhn said.

“Housing supply, infrastructure, and business investment must keep pace to maintain the city’s appeal and economic momentum.”

Sunshine Coast Committee

The Sunshine Coast Committee will be chaired by Chris Graham, Senior Development Manager at Walker Corporation, with Brad Williams from RPS AAP Consulting as Deputy Chair.

The committee will focus on ensuring the region’s planning framework supports population growth, infrastructure delivery, and business expansion.

“With the Sunshine Coast’s population set to grow by 220,000 people by 2046, our priority will be advocating for policies that support housing, commercial space, and transport infrastructure,” Mr. Graham said.
