The Planning (Social Impact and Community Benefit) Bill 2025 has passed in Parliament with several amendments.
The Bill includes changes to planning laws to facilitate the delivery of venues for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games and includes amendments to assist the Games Independent Infrastructure Coordination Authority (GIICA) to deliver venues.
The Bill also proposes changes to the Planning Act 2016 with regards to renewal energy development.
There are also a range of other amendments that have been made to bill which the Property Council is reviewing in conjunction with members.
