Aurecon appoints William Cox as its new global CEO, Purplebricks Australia’s boss Ryan Dinsdale steps aside while CBRE and Architectus grow their teams. And the property industry farewells legend Stan Perron.

In sad news, Australian Property Hall of Fame inductee Stan Perron has passed away, aged 96. Mr Perron was the founder and Chairman of Perron Group, a privately-owned company which now has net assets in excess of $4 billion, including one of the largest privately held property portfolios in Australia. According to the Property Council’s chief executive Ken Morrison, Perron was a pioneer whose sustained leadership and outstanding contribution were acknowledged when he was inducted into the Australian Property Hall of Fame in 2013. “Stan’s integrity, drive for excellence and his compassion were borne out in his philanthropic endeavours and the charitable work that inspired the admiration of all those that knew him,” Morrison says.

Global engineering and infrastructure advisory company Aurecon has announced the appointment of managing director Australia and New Zealand William Cox as its new global chief executive officer to lead the organisation’s rapid growth and continuing diversification. Cox’s appointment marks the end of current Aurecon CEO Giam Swiegers’ fixed four-year term, which saw the company more than double its profits since 2015. Cox, who will be based in Sydney, will focus on growth in digital, advisory and Asia.

Purplebricks Australia chief executive officer Ryan Dinsdale is stepping aside to pursue new opportunities. Dinsdale will remain with Purplebricks to support a period of transition as global chief operating officer Neil Tavender transitions into the role. Dinsdale took on the role two and a half years ago to launch the Purplebricks brand into Australia, during this time reportedly selling more than 4,000 homes. Purplebricks Australia has also appointed Debra Lee, currently chief operating officer, as human resources director. Sean Green takes on the vacant role of national sales manager, after a stint with LJ Hooker.

CBRE’s Victorian retail investments team has secured the services of valuer Annalee Neil. The Deakin University property graduate will take on the role of analyst following nearly three years as a valuer at M3 Property where she focused on valuing retail assets for many of Australia’s major shopping centre owners. Also in Victoria, CBRE has appointed Tim Homes to service the firm’s growing presence in Melbourne’s south east industrial and logistics market. Homes has previously worked with Colliers and Knight Frank and has spent the past five years specialising in sales, leasing, advisory and property acquisition in the UK.

Architectus has two new principals: Andrew Shields and Sean Bett. A technical rail infrastructure specialist, Shields has been based in Hong Kong for the past 23 years and has overseen a range of international rail projects from large scale high-speed rail through to commuter rail and automated people mover systems. Bett has spent more than two decades at HASSELL with a primary focus on large-scale workplace projects.
