
Jane MacMaster takes on the role of inaugural chief engineer at Engineers Australia while the University of New South Wales appoints Professor Deo Prasad to lead industry partnerships and innovation.
Jane MacMaster is Engineers Australia’s inaugural chief engineer. MacMaster has been a senior strategy advisor for the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet and established Ponder Enterprises to help people and organisations solve complex problems. She was also a systems engineer with BAE Systems Australia for well over a decade. In this new role, MacMaster will lead Engineers Australia’s engagement and policy discussion with a wide range of stakeholders
Professor Deo Prasad, who led the CRC for Low Carbon Living until it wound up in 2019, has been appointed associate dean of industry partnerships and innovation at the University of New South Wales. Prasad was director of the UNSW Centre for a Sustainable Built Environment and founder of the university’s Masters in Built Environment.
TM Insight continues to expand the reach of its unique integrated consultancy services in supply chain optimisation, property advisory and project management with a new team in Asia. The team will be based in Singapore and has been formed through strategic in-house moves and new appointments. Melbourne-based supply chain management and commercial real estate company TM Insight is expanding into Asian markets. James Christopher has been appointed president for Asia and Holger Schaurig as executive vice president for supply chain in Asia. Christopher was previously the director of project services for TM Insight and Schaurig was most recently head of omnichannel at Central Group in Thailand. Both will work alongside CEO Travis Erridge to offer supply chain solutions across Australia, New Zealand and throughout Asia.
After more than 11 years leading the Grattan Institute, John Daley has stepped down from the public policy think tank. Danielle Wood, formerly the budget policy and institutional reform program director, takes the reins.
Clint Peters has stepped into the role of director of development at Canberra’s City Renewal Authority. Peters moves across from the Suburban Land Agency, where he was the executive director of sales, marketing, community development, affordable housing and built form initiatives. Peters was also an executive director with the Asbestos Response Taskforce.
Former Liverpool City Council CEO Kiersten Fishburn has been appointed to lead the NSW Government’s new Planning Delivery Unit, established to unblock projects stuck in the system. The Property Council has enthusiastically advocated for the creation of this unit and welcomes Fishburn’s appointment.
James Baulderstone is the new chief executive officer of the Moorebank Intermodal Company, a wholly-owned Australian Government entity established to facilitate the development of a nationally significant infrastructure project. Baulderstone takes on the role for the next five years, replacing interim executive chair Erin Flaherty. Bauldershone was previously the strategic projects director for GFG Alliance Australia, the owner of Whyalla Steelworks.
