
APP Corporation promotes Stuart Bell while Olivia Power joins AVID Property Group. Drone champion Dr Catherine Ball moves to the Aerospace Institute and real estate agency Stanton Hillier Parker relaunches in Australia.
Stuart Bell has been promoted by property and infrastructure services firm APP Corporation. After six years as a project director in WA, Bell has been appointed regional general manager of APP’s project management business in WA. Bell has also worked with CB Richard Ellis and spent five years as national capital works manager for Westpac.
AVID Property Group has strengthened its team with the appointment of community engagement specialist Olivia Power. Formerly a community manager with Newcastle Light Rail, Power will responsible for community events and engagement activities at AVID’s Maitland developments, Harvest and Waterford.
Global real estate agency Stanton Hillier Parker has appointed a new managing partner, Eugene Evgenikos, as the brand relaunches in Australia with offices in Sydney CBD, Mascot and Parramatta. Evgenikos was most recent senior director of capital markets for Knight Frank for seven years. Prior to this he was a director with Colliers International.
Drone specialist Dr Catherine Ball has been appointed director of strategy and marketing at the Aerospace Institute, an organisation established to develop leaders in aviation, aerospace and technology. Ball is also working with the application of drone technology across remote communities, schools, industry, and citizen scientists.
Niall Ashleigh joins commercial real estate agency Teska Carson as a property valuer. Ashleigh has been involved in $4 billion worth of commercial real estate transactions at Centuria Capital, worked in office and industrial valuations at Savills and was formerly a research analyst at the Property Council.
Howard Herman is McGrath Ltd’s new chief financial officer, replacing Glynn Wright had resigned after 18 months with the company. Herman was most CFO of global apparel company Naked Brand Group, and has held financial roles with Bovis Lend Lease in Sydney and Anglo American Properties in South Africa.
And in sad news, two respected industry figures have passed away. Robin Piper was a former Queensland president of the Property Council, and long-time director and manager at JLL. Piper spent the bulk of his career with Jones Lang Wootton, which became JLL. He was JLL’s general manager of Brisbane’s 215 Adelaide Street for a decade until his retirement in 2016. Trevor Davies, the Property Council’s first Queensland president, passed away in early June. A founding force of BOMA, which was later to become the Property Council in Queensland, Davies was a state life member.
