Canberra Town Planning appoints Andrew Connor, Frasers Property Australia promotes Simone Dyer, Amy Hogan moves up the ranks at Stockland and Sunshine Coast Airport recruits Antonio Tolo.
Canberra Town Planning has bolstered its growing team with the appointment of Andrew Connor as senior town planner. Connor has more than 12 years’ experience in planning, most recently as senior town planner with Knight Frank. Prior to this, Connor was manager of statutory planning at the National Capital Authority. He has also held key planning roles with Waverley Council in Sydney, and with private consultancies in Sydney and Canberra. Canberra Town Planning was established by Pieter van der Walt and Kip Tanner in 2015 and has since grown to become the largest planning consultancy in the ACT.
Frasers Property Australia has appointed a new development director for its Shell Cove community. Simone Dyer, (pictured left) formerly the project’s deputy development director, steps into the lead role. Dyer has been actively involved in the strategic design development of The Waterfront at Shell Cove since 2012. Dyer takes over from Glenn Colquhoun who has elected to pursue new career opportunities.
Antonio Tolo (pictured below) joins Sunshine Coast Airport in a newly-created role: general manager of property, retail and parking services. Tolo was most recently general manager of property and planning at the Gold Coast Airport, playing a key role in property transactions and strategy. Tolo’s appointment comes shortly after the release of the Sunshine Coast Airport draft master plan 2040, which will guide the airport’s expansion and development over the next two decades.
Stockland has appointed Amy Hogan to national manager for group sustainability, assuming greater responsibility after the departure of Davina Rooney to the Green Building Council of Australia. Hogan was formerly Stockland’s national sustainability manager for retirement living and has held roles with Novion Property Group, Colonial First State Global Asset Management and JLL.
JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group has appointed Nick Butler and Will Connolly to its growing team. Butler, who will be based in Sydney, moves over from Manenti Quinlan Hotel Brokers where he transacted 20 properties over the last 18 months. Butler also founded and later sold his own wine wholesaling business, Cogito. Since joining JLL, Butler has sold the Empire Hotel in Annandale in an off-market transaction for $10.3 million and the Harold Park Hotel for around $6 million. Meanwhile, Melbourne-based Connolly joins JLL from CBRE. His recent landmark sales include the Royal Saxon Hotel in Richmond and the Marine Hotel in Brighton. JLL’s team has sold nine hotels worth around $150 million in the first half of 2019.
James Hall has joined CBRE’s fast growing residential agency team as a director, working alongside Robert Alfeldi and Caroline Fagerlund. CBRE established its residential agency team in 2018 to service the luxury market. Hall has held senior roles with Colliers International, Knight Frank and CBRE. He was most recently Colliers’ managing director for international properties. Prior to this, Hall was national residential director for Knight Frank Australia, following a role with Christies Great Estates during which time he set several residential price records.
Christopher O’Callaghan has joined Ray White Commercial as a senior property manager in its Sydney city fringe team. O’Callaghan has a varied background, having studied ancient history at university before going into the banking and financial services sector. He has previusly held roles with Raine & Horne Commercial and Knapp and Associates.
Michele Leembruggen has moved to Sustainability Victoria as its new project advisor for the Zero Net Carbon Homes Program. Leembruggen spent more than a decade overseeing the green buildings program at the City of Melbourne.
