AMP Capital realigns its real estate business, Napier & Blakeley and Integral Group grows their teams and Christine O’Hara joins Sentinel Portfolio Management.
AMP Capital has realigned its real estate business along specialist sectors, with two new managing director roles for retail and office and logistics. Brett Williams has been appointed to the new role of managing director of retail. Currently fund manager for the AMP Capital Diversified Property Fund, Williams will lead AMP Capital’s entire retail platform. Mark Kirkland will work closely with Williams under the new title of head of retail. Luke Briscoe will take on the new and expanded role of managing director of office and logistics. Briscoe will be accountable for the whole office and logistics platform including the AMP Capital Wholesale Office Fund. Merran Edwards has been appointed to the new role of chief financial officer for real estate, with oversight of finance, global strategy, business planning, strategic partnerships and risk functions. As chief operating officer and managing director for separate accounts, Kylie O’Connor will take on fund operations and governance, while leading one of the largest separate account businesses in the market, as well as private investor funds. John Dynon will take on the role of head of origination and capital. The role of head of real estate funds management held by Chris Judd is no longer required. Judd, who has been with AMP Capital for 13 years, will remain a director of New Zealand’s Precinct Properties, 50 per cent owned by AMP, until early 2020.
Damian Beadel has joined consultant firm Napier & Blakeley as a senior associate in its Melbourne quantity surveying team. Beadel has worked in the construction industry since 2004 both in Australia and in the UK. John Atkins has been promoted to the role of associate in the same team, after joining the firm in 2017. He has also worked in the UK on a range of projects.
Integral Group continues to expand with the appointment of Shayan Aski just six months after he made the move to WSP. In late July, Integral Group, led by Andrew Mather, announced it had acquired engineering firm Umow Lai, growing its Australian team to 200.
Christine O’Hara has joined Sentinel Portfolio Management as its national portfolio manager. O’Hara will oversee the management of a portfolio of more than 50 assets with a total value of $1.2 billion. O’Hara was most recently an asset manager with Charter Hall, and prior to that was with Investa Property Group.
Peter Poulet has been named a professor of practice architecture for Western Sydney University’s School of Built Environment. The former NSW Government architect and commissioner of the Greater Sydney Commission will help to shape the university’s fledgling architecture program.
Julie Watts is the new design principal at workplace interior design and fitout firm Unispace after nearly 13 years with Cox Architecture.
